2017 Charity Bike Ride

Medico Transport Services – Cycle QLD Fundraiser

Target $20,000 per year

Please support Goondiwindi’ s local bike riders Angus and Sandie Wilson, Marg Jackson, Helen Dimond, Pauline Rae & Dr Rowena Sheppard as they ride in support of Care Goondiwindi’s Medico Transport Services!. This year the Cycle Queensland 2017 Tour Adventure leaves from Goondiwindi on 2nd September and arrives at the Gold Coast on 10th September, a ride of 535 kilometres!!

Care Goondiwindi’s – Medico Transport Services is an essential service that assists our community’s most highly disadvantaged and vulnerable residents to get to and from local medical appointments such as the doctors, hospital, optometrist, physio and counselling services. The Medico Transport Service is offered to residents in the Goondiwindi, Boggabilla & Toomelah areas. We ask for a gold coin donation.

The Medico Transport Services has being running for over 7 years and has assisted on average 180 pick ups per month. Last financial year this service assisted in 1928 medical appointments being met, ensuring that our residents – were able to attend and receive the medical assistance that they required.

Unfortunately the funding to continue this service has now been cut and Care Goondiwindi desperately needs support to ensure that we can continue to deliver this essential service. For some residents, this service is the difference between receiving or not receiving medical support – something many of us might take for granted.

How can you support this worthwhile cause? – You can support these riders during the 535 kilometre bike ride by either:

  1. Donating directly to Care Goondiwindi’s Go Fund Me Page at https://www.gofundme.com/care-goondiwindi-medico-services
  2. Visit the Care Goondiwindi Web site at www.caregoondiwindi.org.au
  3. Drop into Care Goondiwindi office at 111 Callandoon Street, Goondiwindi and offer your support.

Once again – THANK You for your support – if you require any further information please contact Care Goondiwindi on (07) 4670 0700.
